Education

2009 - 2014

BMS College of Engineering

B.E. Biotechnology

Bachelor of Engineering degree in biotechnology

They offered an outstanding curriculum that included a wide variety of disciplines, including biology, biochemistry, genetics, advanced mathematics, physics, and computer science. Since I've always had a knack for both math and biology, enrolling in this program proved to be a great choice.

My senior thesis turned into a full-time career when the funding organization (Everest Biotechnology) decided to offer me a position to work on chemically modifying chitosan to operate as an antibacterial agent and on the manufacturing of high purity cocoa butter for distribution to Canadian pharmaceutical firms.

2016 - 2018

University of Texas at Arlington

M.S. Bioengineering

Master's degree in bioengineering with a concentration on Tissue engineering.

Courses: Tissue Engineering (Lecture and Lab), Drug Delivery (Lecture and Lab), Neural Engineering, Stem Cell Tissue Engineering (Lecture and Lab), Evolution, Human Physiology, Molecular Evolution, Biometry and Laboratory Principles.

Highlight:

These classes provided me with hands-on experience in cell culture techniques, tissue engineering, microfluidics, flow cytometry, and nanoparticle formulation. There was something incredibly attractive about the world beyond the cells that we didn't learn much about, which fueled my desire to pursue a PhD in structural biology to learn about the methods and concepts we've used to exploit and comprehend the molecular world.

Lab Engineer at Harvard SEAS
March - August 2018

Assisted in the following experimental setups: mammalian cell culture, plasmid preps, confocal microscopy, HPLC, electron microscopy, and instructional support. Developed and assisted in teaching courses at four summer programs (UTEC, UNSIT, BioSTAR, and the International Water Engineering Program) that attracted students from all over the world.

 Harvard SEAS Design fair 2018

Summer Program: BioSTAR

At the Harvard University design fair, presented microfluidic technologies, waste
water treatment, and 3D printing to construct scaffolds for tissue engineering.

Assisted in course preparation and teaching support for the BioSTAR program.

Designed course material, conducted lectures, and offered hands-on training in chemical and enzymatic ways of assessing soil macronutrients, and then transferred these studies to lab on a chip utilizing PDMS based microfluidic devices.
